Muhammad Dirga al ghanny, a 5th-grade student at SDIT Diniyyah Al-Azhar Jambi, advanced from the national preliminary round to compete in the Final World Mathematics Invitational, held from July 10–14, 2026, in Chiba and Tokyo, Japan.
Accompanied by his father, Dirga departed for Japan on July 9, 2026, joining hundreds of finalists from countries across the globe, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, Canada, Turkey, Cambodia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Malaysia, China, the Philippines, Australia, Ukraine, Ecuador, Myanmar, Bulgaria, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Participants who won gold or silver medals in the national preliminary rounds earned the right to advance to the World Final in Japan.
The World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) 2026 is a prestigious international mathematics competition founded in Taiwan. It evaluates the logic and problem-solving skills of students ranging from kindergarten to high school. Beyond testing foreign language academic abilities, the competition offers students an opportunity to interact with peers worldwide, broaden their horizons, and gain cross-cultural understanding.
